Viola Ardone was born in Naples and graduated in Literature in 1997 with a thesis on Modern and contemporary theater history. She has worked in the publishing industry and currently teaches Italian and Latin at a high school. For Einaudi, she published for the novels Il treno dei bambini (The Children’s Train, 2019) – translated in 36 languages and adapted into a film directed by Cristina Comencini – Olivia Denaro (2021) – which inspired a stage play directed by Giorgio Gallione – and Grande Meraviglia (2023). For Salani, she published the novels La ricotta del cuore in subbuglio (2012) and Una rivoluzione sentimentale (2016). She authored the play Un sogno di Fuga, put on stage during the Campania Teatro Festival in 2021. She collaborates with the newspapers Corriere del Mezzogiorno, La Repubblica, La Stampa and L’Espresso.
