Ruggero Asnago, born in 1984, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Lecce. His work spans illustration, muralism, and participatory art. Since 2017, he has been developing the project Parata Strampalata!, engaging communities through inclusive workshops and public actions. Widespread participation, workshops, and artist residencies are recurring elements in his research and essential ingredients for his collaborative works. In these projects, a sense of community and inclusion become active principles to combat apathy and isolation, breaking down the barriers between spectator and consumer, so that everyone can play an active role, free from constraints or hierarchies. He also works as an educator in schools and has created a series of workshops for all ages focused on puppet theatre and hands-on creative practices. In 2020, he founded Atelier*Bizzarro, a project that explores the intersection of Art Brut and contemporary folklore through the publication of books and themed fanzines.
