Mariano Tomatis, born in 1997, is an illusionist and writer. For years he has been conducting historical research on illusionism, with particular attention to gender issues. He is the author of the documentary Donne a metà (2013), dedicated to the political history of the woman sawn in half act. Since 2014 he has been curating the Biblioteca Magica del Popolo and has been collaborating with the Wu Ming Foundation. He writes for the blogs Giap, Doppiozero, and L’indiscreto. His latest works include: Incantagioni. Storie di veggenti, sibille, somnambule e altre fantasmagoriche liberazioni (Nero, 2022) and Il mio libro di magia (Tlon, 2024).
