Giorgiomaria Cornelio

Poet

Giorgiomaria Cornelio was born in Macerata in 1997. He is a poet, writer, director, performer, and editor of «Nazione indiana». He co-directed “Trilogia dei viandanti” (2016–2020), which was screened at numerous film festivals and exhibition spaces. His works have appeared in «L’indiscreto», «Doppiozero», «Antinomie», «Il Tascabile Treccani», and other online publications. He has published La consegna delle braci (Luca Sossella editore, Premio Fondazione Primoli), La specie storta (Tlon edizioni, Premio Montano, Premio Gozzano), and the essay Fossili di rivolta. Immaginazione e rinascita (Tlon Edizioni). He took part in the Civitonia project (NERO Editions). He also curated the literary inquiry La radice dell’inchiostro for Argolibri. Moira Egan’s English translation of a selection of his poems was awarded the Raiziss-De Palchi Fellowship by the Academy of American Poets. He is the winner of FONDO 2024 (Santarcangelo Festival), one of the artistic directors of the festival “I fumi della fornace”, and one of the curators of the project “Edizioni volatili”. He holds a degree from Trinity College Dublin.
