Simonetta Bitasi
Reading advocate
Simonetta Bitasi was born in 1966. She obtained her degree in Modern Literature at the University of Bologna with Ezio Raimondi as her supervising professor. Reading is her trade, and as a “lettore ambulante” (wandering reader), she organizes reading groups and book-related events in libraries, bookstores, cultural centres, cafés, and private homes. She was among the contributors to the most recent update of the Garzantina di Letteratura (2007) and has been a consultant for the program of the Festivaletteratura in Mantua since its first edition. For many years, she has been developing reading promotion projects for both young people and adults.
