
Roy Paci
Musician
Roy Paci is a singer, trumpet-player, composer, record producer, and founder of the label and production company Etnagigante. Over a 40-year career, he has recorded and contributed to more than 500 albums, collaborating with artists such as Manu Chao, Mike Patton, Negrita, The Ex, Vinicio Capossela, Gogol Bordello, Macaco, 99 Posse, Daniele Silvestri, Bombino, Caparezza, Hindi Zahra, Ivano Fossati, Subsonica, Piero Pelù, Marlene Kuntz, Frankie Hi-nrg, Tony Levin, and many others.
He has composed soundtracks for cinema, television, and theatre, earning numerous awards, including the prestigious Nastro d’Argento and a David di Donatello nomination. With his band Aretuska, he has set European and Latin American stages ablaze, creating a hybrid yet deeply personal sound that blends his Mediterranean roots with Latin rhythms like samba and cumbia, as well as ska, reggae, R&B, and jazz. He also delivers engaging DJ sets bursting with joy and energy, which he tours worldwide with his signature style.
His other active projects include: Banda Ionica, with which he recorded the world’s first-ever album consisting entirely of funeral marches; Orchestra del Fuoco, a 30-piece international ensemble specialized in soundtracks, created and directed by Roy; Corleone, a project of pure, evolving musical experimentation constantly pushing new sonic horizons; NE:SO, an exploration of experimental sounds playing with analog and electronic gear, vocals, and the tones of the trumpet and flugelhorn; and Carapace, his first theatrical show, co-written with director Pablo Solari, which features him on stage as both an actor and musician, accompanied by the Corleone Ensemble.
