Paulina Spiechowicz was born in Kraków. After moving to Italy as a child, she studied publishing and journalism in Rome, where she lives. She earned her PhD in art history in Paris. Her short stories have appeared in Nazione Indiana, Satisfiction and Patria Letteratura. Regarding her contributions to theater, some of her plays have been put on stage in Paris. She also worked in film productions and has written poetry – Studi sulla notte, Ensemble 2012. Mentre tutto brucia (While Everything Burns) is her debut novel, winner of the 2023 Clara Sereni prize for unpublished fiction.
