
Marco Varvello
Journalist
Marco Varvello is a journalist and head of RAI’s UK bureau. A former anchor for TG1, he curated Il Fatto di Enzo Biagi on Rai1and worked as a correspondent in the US and Berlin. He began his career at the newspaper La Notte and later worked for Il Giornale under the leadership of Indro Montanelli.
He is the author of Dimentica le Mille e una notte, storie di matrimoni forzati nell’Inghilterra di fine millennio (Rizzoli, 2005); Brexit Blues (Mondadori, 2019); Londra Anni Venti (Bompiani, 2022); and Passo falso (RaiLibri, 2023). In 2025, Solferino has published Londra, i luoghi del potere. Il ritorno del Regno Unito tra i protagonisti delle sfide globali, a reportage that weaves together politics, institutions, and society to explore the UK’s renewed role as a key player on the global stage.
