Antonio Mastio
Musician
Antonio Mastio is a musician from Gavoi who has nurtured his passion for music since childhood, focusing primarily on the study of the organetto (diatonic accordion) and traditional Sardinian instruments. While rooted in Sardinian music, he has expanded his repertoire by exploring other musical styles and composing two original pieces. He has also been active in music education, teaching organetto to children and teenagers, passing on his passion for folk music. Since 2011 he has been collaborating with the Tumbarinos of Gavoi, starting a musical journey that led him to perform with various groups in the Sardinian folk scene. Since 2024, with Alessandro Magrini, he’s the founder of the ethnic music group Inghirios, where he plays the organetto. He has performed on an episode of Striscia la Notizia (2015), in concert in Cascia for Sa Paradura (2017), at the Artigiano in Fiera in Milan (2017), at the Ichnos event in Sedilo (2022 and 2023), and at the wedding of the Prince of Jordan in Costa Smeralda (2023). In February 2025 he shared the stage with Dino Madau in a unique performance that brought together Pinuccio Sciola’s sonorous stones and the trunfa (Jew’s harp), creating an artistically and emotionally powerful dialogue. In April 2025 he contributed to the new album by Pietro Cirillo and Officine Popolari Lucane, performing traditional music from southern Italy. The project brings together voices and sounds from Basilicata and Sardinia, alongside artists such as Ambrogio Sparagna, Eugenio Bennato, Alfio Antico, and many others.
