Susanne Scholl

Born in Vienna in 1949, she has studied Slavistics at the University of Rome. She has worked as a journalist in Vienna and in Bonn, then, for almost twenty years, as a news correspondent for the Austrian radio and television ORF, in Moscow. She has published several books – among those translated in Italian, the novel-reportage Töchter des Krieges – Ragazze della guerra (Voland) and Russland mit und ohne Seele – Russia senz’anima? – novels and poetry collections. Her novels Emma schweigt and Wachtraum were published by Residenz Publishers in February 2014 and August 2017 respectively. She is a co-founder of the group “Grandmothers against the right”, which works in defence of democracy. She has two twins, a boy and a girl, and lives in Vienna with her Russian cat called Wasja.
