Alessandro Giammei

Alessandro Giammei (Rome, 1988) is Assistant Professor of Italian Literature at Bryn Mawr College. After his graduate studies at the University of Rome La Sapienza and at Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa, he taught at NYU, Princeton University, and in New Jersey state prisons. His scholarly work, in English and in Italian, addresses topics at the crossway of literary and visual studies, the Renaissance and later Modernity. His Nell’officina del nonsense di Toti Scialoja (edizioni del verri, 2014) won the Harvard Edition of the Edinburgh Gadda Prize. In 2018, he published a collection of personal essays titled Una serie ininterrotta di gesti riusciti: Esercizi su Il Grande Gatsby di F. Scott Fitzgerald (Marsilio). giammei.com @giammei
