Mauro Barindi

(Vicenza,1964) Graduated in Romanian Language and Literature at the University of Padua and earned his PhD in Romance Philology from Madrid Complutense University . he thaught Italian at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University ( Iasi, Romania), the University of Reykjavík, at the Italian Institute in Cairo and Tel Aviv, and is currently teaching in Lisbon. A member of Air ( Associazione Italiana di Romenistica / Italian Associatin for Romanian Studies), he has worked on different aspects of Romanian culture and language, and has published on the bilingual and intercultural online journal Orizzonti culturali italo-romeni. His first literary translation was Vasile Ardu’s novel Păsările cerului (Uccelli dal ciel, Controluce,Nardò 2008); among the authors he translated are Ana Blandiana and Florina Ilis’.
