Wanda Marasco

Wanda Morasco was born in Naples, where she currently lives. She is the author of novels and collections of poems. She won the Bagutta Prize Opera for the novel L’arciere d’infanzia (The archer of childhood) (Manni, 2003) and the Montale Prize for poetry with the collection Voc e Poè (Campanotto, 1997). She worked in theatre as a director, author and actress. She was a finalist of the literary contest 2013 Neri Pozza with the novel about Vincenzo Gemito Il genio dell’abbandono (The genius of abandon), published by the same publishing house. She was also the finalist to 2015 Strega Prize and2015 Viareggio Prize. From this novel, she wrote the theatrical play, played out by Teatro Stabile of Naples, with which she won the prize Le maschere del teatro italiano as Migliore autore novità italiana (Best new Italian author). In 2017, she published the novel La compagnia delle anime finte (The company of fake souls) (Neri Pozza), a finalist of 2017 Strega Prize.
