Mauro Barindi (Vicenza, 1964). He graduated in Romanian Language and Literature at the University of Padova (1993); he studied Romanian language, culture and civilization at the University of Iasi (1987) and at the University of Bucharest (1992). He earnedhis PhD in Romance Philology from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2006. He took part in training seminars for translators (Bucharest 2009, 2010) and in workshops for literary translation from Romanian, organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute of Venice (2010, 2011, 2015). He is a member of the “Associazione Italiana di Romenistica” and editor of the magazine Orizzonti Culturali italo-romeni (Italian-Romanian Cultural Horizons). He is the author of more than ten translations, the latest one being the volume of poems Elegie allucinogene (Hallucinogenic Elegies) by Ofelia Prodan (Edizioni Forme Libere, 2019).
