Marco Damilano, (Rome 1968) is a journalist and has been director of L’Espresso since October 2017. He debuted on the weekly “Segno Sette”. He collaborated with “Sette-Corriere della Sera”, “Diario” and “Jesus” before being hired at L’Espresso in 2001 as a political and parliamentary reporter. He is a co-author of the film subject and screenplay “Piovono Mucche”, a comedy about conscientious objectors and people with disabilities, and he won the Solinas prize for film writing 1996. His published books include: “Democristiani immaginari” (Vallecchi 2006); “Il Partito di Dio. La nuova galassia dei cattolici italiani” (Einaudi 2006); “Lost in Pd. Partito democratico: chi l’ha fatto, chi l’ha distrutto, chi lo ricostruirà” (Sperling & Kupfer 2009); “Eutanasia di un potere. Storia politica d’Italia da Tangentopoli alla Seconda Repubblica” (Laterza 2012); “Chi ha sbagliato più forte. Le vittorie, le cadute, i duelli dall’Ulivo al Pd” (Laterza 2013). In 2015 a book-interview with Romano Prodi was published for Laterza “Missione incompiuta” and “La Repubblica del Selfie”.for Rizzoli. “Dalla meglio gioventù a Matteo Renzi. Processo al nuovo” is the last published book (Laterza, 2017). In 2015 he won the Ischia International Journalism award. He runs a political blog on L’Espresso website, “Finemondo”. He participates in numerous television programs, including the program Gazebo on Rai 3.
