Filomena Campus

Jazz vocalist and theater director, Filomena Campus has been living in London since 2001 where she founded the theatre company “Theatralia”. She won Maria Carta Price (2009) and Navicella Price (2015), she has worked together with internationally renowned musicians such as Paolo Fresu, Antonello Salis, Evan Parker, Gavino Murgia, Orphy Robinson, Jean Toussaint, Byron Wallen, Cleveland Watkiss and the London Improvisers Orchestra”. In 2009 she created the Filomena Campus Quartet with Steve Lodder at the piano, Dudley Phillips at the double bass and Rod Yungs at the drums, with whom she recorded the album “Jester of Jazz”, released in the UK, Italy, Germany, Morocco, Qatar and Jordan, and she will join the Jazz Festival in Edinburgh next 22nd July. In 2014 she recorded “Scaramouche”, an album composed with the guitarist Giorgio Serci and guests such as the legendary Kenny Wheeler. Filomena Campus is the creator of the Theatralia Jazz Festival (www.theatraliajazzfestival.com), a bridge between Sardinia and the UK.
