Antoni Libera (Warsaw, 1949) is a Polish writer, translator, literary critic; he works for the theatre and the major expert in Beckett’s works in Poland. He is a member of the Pen Club, Organisation of the Polish writers, and of the American Samuel Beckett Society. His first novel Madame (Longanesi, 2002) has been nominated for the Nike Prize, the most important award in Poland. He also received the prestigious Andrzej Kijowski Prize. He published for Sellerio La Toccata in do maggiore (Toccata in C major, 2015), a bildungsroman and a meditation on the artist’s destiny, and a reflection on talent and profession and on the awareness of everyone’s limits as well.
